I believe this is enough proof to display that "enviromentally conscious liberals" are just as stupid as everyone else. Electric cars are not zero-emission vehicles. People get pulled in by the word electric, but it seems that they forget how we get electricity.

They could be cleaner then the gas hogs we create now, but I want to see how much coal must be burned to operate the car. Of course, this could also depend on where you live (what type of energy your region depends on).

I've always been dismayed by the arguments that somehow the electric is just as bad as gas-powered car because the electricity used to charge the car is from a coal powered plant. The problem is the act of burning coal, not electricity itself.
