Update April 99
- the State of Illinois House of Representatives has just voted - Unanimously no less - to make even the publishing of information about the medical uses of Cannabis on the Internet a criminal offence!! (see below)  One assumes, perhaps naively,  that this attempt will be kicked into touch in much the same wayas previous attempts at circumventing the 1st amendment. But even the attempt reveals the extent of the insanity pervading the American establishment)

Illinois Bill Criminalizes Marijuana Information on the Internet

"April 8, 1999, Springfield, IL: The state House of Representatives unanimously approved legislation that would impose criminal penalties on those who transmit information pertaining to marijuana on the Internet if they "know that the information will be used in furtherance of illegal activity."
